Are these toys?
Yes & no!
All of these horses started off as toys or models. Fashion Star Fillies (Kenner) Breyer Horses (models) & Kid Kore as well as Barbie, Fakie & more are all included.
The restoration & enhancements makes them more "collector pieces" instead of toys. The new comb-able tails & manes are all real nylon hair, but they're not as sturdy as the original. The hoof enamel prevents shelf wear, but won't stand up to being ground upon the sidewalk. The new paint has special properties (glitter dust, shimmer, interference, metallic, etc) that won't stand up to bath play like the original toy might.

Are these One Of A Kind (OOAK) ?
Pretty much, yes.
The paint patterns & metal leaf patterns can never exactly repeat. Sure, you could do a similar horse or pick one in the same pose to try to re-do the design, but it'll never be precisely like the first one.

Are Ponies or Horses More Time-Consuming to Make?
Because horses are larger than ponies, a usual guess would be "horses take longer".....but this isn't true!
The mane of a My Little Pony from any generation is made up of many, many tiny holes. Each hole must be hand-filled individually with new hair. It is a time consuming one-by-one process that must be done neatly & properly to give the full, luxurious & soft mane that is desired in a custom pony.
The mane of the horse is inserted as a carefully crafted plastic strip with the hair attached. Since the mane is a single slot, the hair is prepared, but then added all at once. (Most original manes are added as a factory strip as well) Each mane, horse or pony is then anchored with glue.
